Blending of tapestry red, darker and almost silky in the standards, redder in the falls. Whereas most iris “reds” are a combination of purple and yellow pigments, in this case the yellow is replaced by apricot, giving a subtle orange undertone most apparent on the shirred hafts. (And more apparent in hot, humid weather.) Tile red beards. Flowers of moderate size, but with good branching and bud count generally seven to nine. Easy grower, foliage with reddish purple base. Grows to 34" with an early to midseason bloomIris rhizomes are best divided and transplanted after the plants finish blooming and have enough time to store nutrition in their roots.
